Financial Controller – In-Person (Wixom, MI)

We're seeking a Financial Controller to join our team and contribute to the financial success of our rapidly expanding organization.

In this role, you’ll oversee the day-to-day financial operations of our North American subsidiaries, including managing Accounts Payable and Receivable staff, budgeting, monthly reporting, and group consolidation. You’ll collaborate closely with the North America CFO and Group CFO, while actively contributing to strategic decisions that will drive Firebolt Group’s financial growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budget Management: Develop, implement, and monitor budgets, using financial data to forecast future revenue and expenses.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare detailed and accurate financial reports (including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements) that reflect the company's financial position.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for the business, helping guide key financial decisions.
  • Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow to ensure liquidity for operational needs and business growth.
  • Financial Operations: Supervise daily financial operations, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and tax filings.
  • Compliance: Ensure the organization adheres to financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance reporting requirements.
  • Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with banks, lawyers, auditors, and other key external partners.
  • Risk Management: Identify financial risks and implement strategies and controls to minimize losses, ensuring the integrity of financial operations.
  • Audit Coordination: Manage audit processes, liaising with auditors and ensuring findings are addressed promptly.
  • Staff Supervision: Lead, mentor, and train your financial team to enhance performance and ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 5 years in an accounting or financial management role, with solid experience in Accounts Receivable/Payable, Month-End Close, Payroll, Financial Statement preparation, and State Sales Tax.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis.
    • Proficiency in national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting.
    • Fluent in English (verbal and written).
    • Must be local to Wixom, MI 

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Experience with accounting software like Xero, Sage, or others.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Monday, Hubspot, Cin7 Inventory, Commonsku, Lightspeed.
  • Language skills in French, Spanish, or Mandarin are a plus.
  • Experience with internal or external audits.
