Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on, detail-driven Senior Accounting Manager to help guide the accounting function as the company continues to grow. This role owns the month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls, provides mentorship and support to the accounting team.

What You'll Do

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures in line with GAAP.

• Prepare and present monthly financial results, key variances, and business insights to senior leadership.

• Oversee general ledger accounting, including inventory, fixed assets, and cost of goods sold.

• Provide guidance, review, and mentorship to accounting team members, supporting their professional growth.

• Partner with Leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

• Coordinate with external auditors and tax preparers, and support annual audit and tax filing processes.

• Maintain relationships with outside stakeholders, including vendors and lenders.

• Evaluate opportunities to automate manual accounting processes and improve system utilization.

• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities to improve margin and efficiency.

• Ensure compliance with sales tax, payroll tax, and other regulatory filing requirements across the states where the company operates.

• Complete monthly sales tax filings and related reconciliations, as needed.

• Support accounting system improvements and process automation as the company scales.

What You Bring

• Active, valid CPA license preferred.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience with month-end close and financial reporting.

• Prior experience mentoring or providing guidance within an accounting team preferred.

• Experience in a multi-state retailer preferred.

• Experience with NetSuite is a plus.

• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and internal control best practices.

• Experience with inventory and cost accounting in a retail, e-commerce, or distribution environment is a strong plus.

• Experience implementing, upgrading, or optimizing an ERP or accounting system is a plus.

• Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills; ERP system experience preferred.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
